Industry context
Packaging and consumer-goods lines combine converting, filling, cartoning and case packing, often from several machine builders and several decades. Many plants run controls platforms that are no longer supported, with spare parts sourced from the second-hand market.
Our role is usually integration and modernization: making machines from different builders behave as one line, and replacing obsolete controls without losing production.

Common challenges
Obsolete PLCs, drives and HMIs with no spare-parts support and knowledge held by one or two people.
Format changeovers that rely on manual adjustment and operator memory.
Line balancing between machines from different builders.
Limited visibility of why the line stops and for how long.

Standards & considerations
Migration must happen in planned shutdowns, typically 24–72 hours per line.
Existing machine safety must be reassessed when controls change, not just copied.
Recipe and format data should move to a central, versioned system.
Operator HMIs need to stay familiar enough to avoid a training dip at go-live.
